We had a fantastic day for our June walk, although as we approached Snowdonia it was completely overcast and threatening, but all this cleared and we had an warm sunny day with just a slight breeze. Just 10 on the B walk today and such a variety of views, never going above 650 ft but wonderful panoramas. Distance: 8.5 miles, Totals ascent/descent 1430ft The only down side was the long coach journey of 2.5 hrs (120miles) but well worth it.

Went to see the bluebells before they faded and decided to attempt Rannerdale Knotts as well if Iris was able. The morning was very wet so on the way, we called at Wilf's in Stavely for some breakfast.By the time we were at Rannerdale the rain had almost stopped and we had a good day.

Beddgellert A Reccie

Gwyn accompanied me for the A Party reccie. We started out at 0600hrs and made good time arriving just after 8 and on our way by 0820hrs. The route was a linear one starting at Rhyd Ddu where we left the car, travelling up to the lower reaches of Snowden, down into Nantgwynant, back along Llyn Dinas and over the hill above Bedgellert. A varied walk with some exertion and lovely views. The day was brilliant with mainly clear skies and little breeze. We did miss catching the train back to Rhyd Ddu due to meandering on the summit above Bedgellert, so we enjoyed a cup of tea and an ice cream before catching the Sherpa bus back.

Beddgelert & Moel Hebog

An A Party Reccie with Les. It was a lovely day for walking, dry with lots of sunshine. It was a long journey of 2.5 hrs but parking was easy and we were soon off up Moel Hebog. The views high up were astounding and I saw the Snowden range with a fresh sight. We didn't finish the planed route as we were both finding it difficult and probably not suitable for the Club, so we missed out the other two peaks. However, I later realised that I had a virus which made it self known the next day. No wonder I found it hard going and the route track only showed a reduction of less than a mile, so we should have been able to do the complete round easily. You loose some , you win some!Only One Hewitt climbed today.
